We are looking for our next Instrumentation and Controls Electrical Technician Lead to join our team at Tualatin Valley Water District!

The Position:

You will be responsible for leading a team of two other SCADA Technicians in maintaining, testing, and upgrading TVWD’s and the Willamette Water Supply System’s (WWSS) supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. The data collection and reporting that you three facilitate will help staff effectively control water system operations. Priorities and Projects:

  1. TVWD’s new water source, the WWSS, will be operational in late 2026 or early 2027. TVWD is the managing agency of this supply and responsible for the design and construction of future expansions as well as its integration into the current TVWD water system.
  2. TVWD is always working on a variety of capital improvement projects aimed at improving the resiliency of our water system infrastructure.

Our System Operations Team Culture:

This team manages TVWD’s reservoirs, pump stations, and pressure regulating stations, ensuring reliable delivery to our customers. In addition to TVWD’s system, the SCADA Team will support Operations at the WWSS water treatment plant, WWSS raw water facility, and turnouts. The team brings a diverse skillset to the table, and collaboration is key—they are always willing to help each other out.

Are You Our Ideal Candidate?

  • Safety-driven
  • Self-starter—able to work in an unsupervised environment and appropriately prioritize work.
  • Team player—able to take direction equally well from a supervisor or coworkers.

It is widely stated, and supported by studies, that candidates are less likely to apply for a job unless they believe they meet 100% of the hiring criteria. Our recruitment goals include hiring the candidate who is best able to meet the performance objectives of this role; we encourage people with non-traditional skillsets and experience to apply, even if you don’t have experience with every job function listed on the job description. The exception is that we require the LME license or higher as issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division or for you to be able to obtain one within one year of accepting the position.

Compensation/Benefits:
