We’re looking for one limited duration, bilingual Customer Service and Billing Specialist to join our team at TVWD! This position is budgeted through June 30, 2027.

The Position:

As a TVWD Customer Service and Billing Specialist, you’ll work in our office to help our 215,000 customers start/stop water utility service, assist with account and billing questions, and accept payments. You’ll also support a variety of projects in the Customer Service Department like normalizing our new Customer Information System and helping customers in need access new financial aid programs.

TVWD’s Customer Service Department encompasses several critical functions that are dedicated to supporting customers and advancing improvements to utility meter-to-cash operations. We’re looking for someone with the following skills, experience, and traits to join our team:

  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Call-center, customer service, and cash handling experience Respectful, polite, cheerful, empathetic, and friendly Reliable and dependable
  • Able to navigate common customer service challenges like working with customers with limited technology skills or language barriers (bilingual Spanish and English skills required)
  • Ability to learn systems and software programs Able to work in a team environment
  • Experience helping customers
  • Able to provide and receive feedback

Typically, a TVWD Customer Service and Billing Specialist has a high school diploma or GED and two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, utility billing, customer service, cashiering, and/or working in a call center. Our recruitment goals include hiring the candidate who is best able to meet the performance objectives of this role; we encourage people with non-traditional skillsets and experience to apply, even if you don’t have experience with every job function listed on the job description.

Compensation/Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $58,115.20-$87,193.60 per year depending on experience. There is a 3% bilingual pay differential for those who qualify. These positions are not eligible to work remotely. The schedule is Monday through Friday.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $27.94 - $41.92 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
