About the Role:

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing compassionate and individualized care to people with developmental disabilities or other support needs. This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and supporting community integration. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for community-based support).
• Ability to pass background checks and any required health screenings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional or in a related caregiving role.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Training or coursework related to developmental disabilities or behavioral health.
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
• Bilingual abilities to support diverse client populations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility support.
• Implement individualized care plans and document progress, changes, and any incidents accurately and timely.
• Support clients in developing social, recreational, and vocational skills to promote community involvement and independence.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care and support.
