Location: The Texas Girls School
Salary: $80,000 range (Pro-rated for Jan 1 start)

Position OverviewStarting January 1, the Assistant Principal (AP) will serve as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing the daily logistical, safety, and operational functions of the campus. This role requires a unique blend of instructional oversight—specifically in STEM—and high-level management of school facilities, technology, and student services. The AP serves as the acting administrator in the absence of the Principal or Superintendent.
This role also includes a combined Math Lab Leadership/Science Teaching component as our school is currently very small (40 students).
Key Responsibilities1. Leadership of Operations- Acting Administrator: Assume full responsibility for day-to-day operations when the Principal or Superintendent is off-campus.
- Facilities & Safety: Oversee building maintenance, safety protocols, and emergency drills to ensure a secure learning environment.
- Technology: Oversee our devices, assets, software, online curriculum, e-rate, our technology vendor, and STEM Materials.
- Nutrition & Transportation: Manage school nutrition programs and oversee transportation logistics, including arrival and dismissal, procurement of a new bus and direct supervision of the bus driver.
- Health & Wellness: Provide administrative oversight for the Nursing department and "Movement" initiatives (PE and FitnessGram coordination).
- Infrastructure: Oversee the Library, Clever integration, and overall campus technology health.
- Student Devices: Manage the distribution, inventory, and maintenance of all student devices.
- Policy Enforcement: Direct the Yondr program (cell-phone-free environment) and manage student technology violations.
- HQIM: Lead the procurement and distribution of High-Quality Instructional Materials (Textbooks).
- Science Teacher of Record: Deliver direct instruction for four Science classes per week, managing lesson planning, grading, and lab safety.
- Technology: Support students and staff in learning technology applications (i.e. AI and Playlab AI, internet safety, digital wellness, etc)
- Math Lab Facilitator: Act as the primary facilitator for the Math Lab, supporting student intervention, data-driven practice, and individual growth targets. Math teacher of record for the substitute-driven or self-guided math courses.
- Engineering Programming: Support our Flex Friday Engineering programming
- Compliance: Oversee programs for SPED, 504, and Emergent Bilingual (EB) students.
- Meetings: Attend and facilitate ARD and LPAC meetings to ensure legal compliance and student success.
- Discipline: Provide secondary support for student discipline and behavioral interventions.
- Fiscal Support: Assist the Superintendent and Finance Department with budget monitoring and operational expenditures.
- Instructional Support: Support the Contracted Instructional Specialist and conduct T-TESS evaluations to ensure high-quality teaching across the campus.
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications- Education: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
- Certification: Valid Principal Certification (or eligibility for probationary certificate).
- Experience: Previous leadership experience preferred; strong background in Math/Science instruction and educational technology (Clever, device management) is highly valued.
- Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, conflict resolution, and large-scale logistical planning.
- Schedule: Full-time, 12-month position.
- Environment: Balanced between an office setting and active classroom/lab instruction.
