Assistant Maintenance Manager – Boston Crossing
Location: Canton, MD
Hourly Rate: $28/h
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
On-Call: Rotating after-hours, weekends, and holidays
WPM Real Estate Management is seeking a talented and dependable Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our service team at Boston Crossing in Canton, MD. This is a great opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work and mentoring others in a fast-paced residential environment.
In this role, you will support the Service Manager in overseeing daily maintenance operations. You’ll help lead the maintenance team, coordinate with contractors, manage work orders, and ensure timely responses to resident concerns, all while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety across the property.

Key Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance duties, including:
HVAC: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating and cooling systems
Electrical: Install lamps, ballasts, repair switches, outlets, and fixtures
Plumbing: Clear backups, repair/replace toilets and faucets, install disposals
Carpentry: Replace doors, shelves, siding, and other wood components
General: Replace broken glass, tiles, carpet, screens, appliances, and locks
Prepare apartments for move-ins and assist with move-out inspections
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop
Perform seasonal outdoor tasks such as grounds policing and snow removal
Participate in the rotating on-call schedule
Complete painting and drywall repairs as needed
Provide mentorship to junior maintenance staff and assist with training
Support the Service Manager with administrative and operational duties
Requirements
3–5 years of residential or property maintenance experience
HVAC certification is required
Strong skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
Ability to work from ladders or lifts up to 85 feet
Availability for emergency on-call shifts
