What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at TT&E Iron & Metal, Inc.?
We are looking for an organized, dependable team member with a high attention to detail to join us. Great company 46 years family owned. We process scrap metal materials and ship them to various refining companies. The metals are reprocessed into usable materials, helping our environment. Everything we buy is recycled.
Hours
Monday- Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, and every other Saturday 8:00am - 12:30pm.

Compensation
- $15.00 - $17.00 per hour (could work more hours if others are off).
- Check tickets for accuracy.
- Verifies customer tickets and customer ID as required by local/state regulations
- Reconcile cash drawer daily and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Maintain checkout operation.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Assist with answering phones and general office support as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
- Must be dependable, honest, and detail-oriented
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Knowledgeable about company products and services, and customer-related policies.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of recyclable materials (or willingness to learn) is a plus
- Cashier experience (Five years experience required).
- Bi-lingual (preferred)
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years old (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
