TSV is partnering with a publicly traded American retail company to hire a Senior Director Continuous Improvement - Distribution. This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the VP Distribution. The incumbent will report to the Vice President Distribution and will have six direct reports. Summary:
The incumbent will drive enterprise-wide initiatives to optimize distribution operations, improve efficiency and flow to enhance organizational performance. This role involves analyzing current processes, developing improvement strategies, and implementing solutions to reduce costs, improve productivity and flow, and service while also increasing safety, quality, and repeatability. This role will also foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that teams are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to drive positive change. The incumbent will lead the central engineering team across Supply Chain operations to ensure to maximize productivity and costs and champion efforts against long range strategic planning initiatives as well as lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize systems across supply chain operations. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement, implementing lean methodologies, and aligning engineering strategies with business goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze existing distribution processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and continuous improvement inside and outside the 4-walls
- Develop and implement strategies including TPM with Lead, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies
- Utilize data analysis to assess current processes, measure performance, and identify areas for optimization. Tracking and reporting on the process of improvement projects, ensuring desired results are achieved
- Facilitating workshops, training sessions, and communication to ensure smooth implementation of changes and adoption of new processes
- Involving employees in the improvement process through training and feedback mechanisms, fostering a culture of continuous learning and ownership
- Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties, complete performance reviews and provide coaching, development, and succession planning at the site level
What You'll Bring:
- 10 years of experience in Continuous Improvement for a big box retailer with a focus on distribution
- Vast experience with labor standards
- Passion for innovation
- Ability to build, own, and drive change
- Experience with six sigma, DMAIC and DMADV, Lean, Kaizen, and statistical process control.
- Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management System (preferred), JDA, Red Prairie or similar warehouse management system
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field of study
- Master’s degree preferred
