Job Overview:
The Site Superintendent will be coordinating with and assisting the Project Manager, vendors, subcontractors and TST Management to determine the need for manpower, materials, and equipment. The Site Superintendent will be the direct liaison with the Government Contracting Official/Owner as well as directing the daily activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety rules, and quality/security requirements to maximize production and eliminate disruptions and downtime. Ensures the construction schedule and budget are kept in accordance with plan.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains high level of professionalism and carries out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service. Exercises tact, good manners and diplomacy.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.
- Accomplishes construction project results by understanding the scope of work, working with Project Manager to contract with subcontractors then coordinating and scheduling the various trades, resolving issues, to reach a timely conclusion.
- Supervises the coordination and input as needed with the contractors’ providing services and infrastructure.
- Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
- Manages sub-contractors; monitors, controls performance, and ensures quality workmanship.
- Oversees preparation of daily reports of construction activity for office submittal.
- Supervisors change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information; supplemental instructions and other contract documentation are required on behalf of TST.
- Assist Project Manager so that each subcontractor is provided with TST’s subcontract package and all agreements, submittals, required government documents, W-9, Certificate of Insurance, Certified Payroll, Lien Waivers, Schedule of Values, etc. are signed and returned to TST headquarters.
- Communicates progress of projects to the Project Manager and ensures deadlines are met.
- Provides coordination and input as needed with contractors providing services and infrastructure for the project including schedule and cost management.
- Monitors and ensures schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors.
- Prepares and submits daily logs and reports of construction activities to requiring authority.
- Reviews and approves subcontractor payment requests and forward them to the Project Manager for approval.
- Attend local meetings, approval meetings, conferences on behalf of TST. Documents and takes action on items in TST’s interests.
- Maintains relationships and act as TST’s liaison in matters associated with Federal, State and Municipal matters including the construction inspection requirements to ensure expeditions and successful delivery of project goals and objectives.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of common commercial construction industry practices and standards.
- Ensures safe, secure, and healthy work environment is maintained by following and enforcing standards and procedures to comply with legal regulations and OSHA standards.
- Evaluates construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtains approvals from customers.
- Assists in the review and approval of subcontractor payment requests.
- Attends required meetings and conferences on behalf of TST. Document and take action on items in TST’s interests.
- Completes continuing education requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5-10 years of commercial or federal government construction work experience.
- Must have some federal government construction experience to be considered.
- OSHA 30
- EM-385-1-1 safety standards.
- USACE Quality Control Management Certification.
- Able to manage multi projects and work with a team made up of Project Managers, Design Engineers, Estimators, Contract Administrators, Administrative staff, Field Installers, Vendors, and Subcontractors.
- Thorough knowledge of all construction related trades.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
