Sales Associate
Position Summary
The Sales Associate is responsible for generating qualified leads and sales as a result of a direct external or internal sales effort. Responsibilities include positioning the company as a preferred provider and maintaining professional relationships in the assigned accounts, developing and implementing sales strategies, and achieving sales targets.
Position Expectations
- Builds local relationships and attract new clients.
- Cold calling and prospecting.
- Manage relationships with new and existing clients with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Attend trade shows and other industry and networking events to accumulate leads and attract new clients.
- Proven record of consistent success in exceeding sales goals through prospecting and meeting with potential clients.
- Proven record of strong teamwork and personal accountability.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Reliable transportation is required to travel to and from customer locations. Must be located in the Ashland, Virginia or surrounding area'
Education, Certifications and /or Licenses:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- 3 years of previous outside sales, account management, and relationship-building experience, business to business sales is a plus.
- Experience in office supply products is strongly preferred, but not required.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership and responsiveness.
- Tenacity to complete tasks within a timely manner.
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other computer programs.
- Excellent presentation, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able work independently and/or collaboratively within a team – willing to roll up your sleeves and help the team get work done.
- Manage and organize time to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Lives and leads by TSR’s values and serves as an example of the best we want to see in our team.
- Able to interact professionally with customers, vendor partners, and fellow employees.
