Position Summary
The Quality Specialist promotes a customer-focused quality culture. Ensures all Quality Management System requirements are fulfilled while focusing on continually improving. Enhances the front-line knowledge and accountability for all quality assurance functions, including being a focal point for internal and external quality audits.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain and continuously improve all aspects of the TSM Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure ongoing ISO 9001 certification in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
Represent the organization in interactions with auditors, customers, and suppliers.
Conduct audits across site facilities including plants, labs, warehouses, and central functions.
Prepare and present findings to site management team.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the QMS to identify noncompliance and areas for optimization.
Design and implement new processes, documentation, and logs to enhance QMS performance.
Oversee and maintain the following functions: interpret and apply industry standards related to:
- Document Management System
- Management of Change (MOC) System
- Incident Database(s)
- Record Management Process
- Corrective & Preventive Actions
Ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements (OSHA, PSM, RMP).
Develop, revise, and draft quality assurance policies and procedures.
Identify training needs and develop training materials to support quality standards.
Coordinate and support external audits.
Create and certify customer-facing documents such as:
- Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
- Sales specification sheets
- Technical data sheets
Manage COA templates and customer assignments within SAP.
Assist in inspection and analysis planning to ensure finished product quality.
Perform review and approval of OOS, deviations, nonconformance, and investigation as required.
Support the Management System Review process.
Contribute to the development of annual quality and customer satisfaction goals.
Execute special projects as assigned by management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective in both one-on-one and group settings.
Strong focus on quality objectives and customer relationship management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to interpret and implement regulatory and quality standards.
Experience Requirement
3 years of Quality Assurance experience in manufacturing environment, with a strong preference towards chemical manufacturing/processing.
Working knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001)
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or related field not required, but preferred
High School Diploma
Travel Requirement
Minimal. <10%.As needed for training or supplier/customer audits or meetings.
