Position Summary:
A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) assists doctors, nurses, and therapists in the care and treatment of patients with behavioral disorders, mental health conditions, or substance abuse issues. The BHT provides direct support to patients by monitoring behavior, assisting in daily activities, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by clinical staff.
- Monitor and document patient behavior, mood, and overall well-being.
- Support patients with daily living activities including hygiene, meals, and recreational activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- De-escalate crisis situations using appropriate intervention strategies and techniques.
- Report changes in patients' conditions or concerns to medical or clinical staff promptly.
- Facilitate group activities and therapeutic interventions as instructed by clinicians.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and team meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Background check and drug screening may be required.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
