Job Overview
We are seeking a flexible, passionate, and dedicated Floating Childcare Teacher to join our team! This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with all age groups, from infants through school-age children. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly, support various classrooms, and help maintain a positive, safe, and engaging environment for every child.
This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to step into different rooms as needed to support staff and children.
Duties
- Support classrooms of all age groups, maintaining a safe, organized, and nurturing environment.
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that encourage learning through play.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with children and promote social–emotional development.
- Monitor and document children’s progress and behavior, offering support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff to ensure a cohesive and positive childcare environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all classroom spaces.
- Adapt to the needs of each room and support children with diverse learning or behavioral needs.
Qualifications (Required)
- At least 1 year of daycare or early childhood education experience.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Proven ability to manage groups of children and support classroom routines.
- Strong understanding of childhood development and behavior management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in specialized settings.
- Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- A nurturing, patient, and dependable demeanor.
- Early childhood certifications preferred but not required.
Education Requirements:
- Assistant Teacher: High school diploma or equivalent
- Lead Teacher: CDA, 12 ECE credits, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
