Overview
This is a part-time position during the school year, with full-time hours available during school breaks and summer.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate After School Lead to support students in both their academic growth and personal development. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, experienced in working with children, and skilled at creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment. Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring across various subjects, tailored to individual student needs
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that promote comprehension, retention, and critical thinking
- Manage classroom behavior while fostering a respectful, supportive, and inclusive environment
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and academic skill-building
- Monitor student progress and communicate updates to parents and guardians
- Incorporate principles of child development, behavior management, and special education strategies as appropriate
- Maintain a safe environment by following child safety protocols and administering first aid when necessary
- Offer emotional support through age-appropriate counseling or behavioral guidance when needed
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to develop well-rounded educational support plans
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camps, or tutoring programs
- Knowledge of early childhood education, child development, and effective behavior management strategies
- Experience with classroom management, special education needs, or childcare is highly valued
- Backgrounds in sports coaching, theater, babysitting, or other student-engagement activities are a plus
- Familiarity with child safety procedures; first aid certification preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Experience in faith-based youth mentorship or counseling is advantageous

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
