Overview:
The Suite Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service with a positive and upbeat attitude while accurately and efficiently ordering, delivering, setting up, serving, and breaking down food and beverage.
Job Requirements:
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and congenially with guests about SAP services, products, programs and events
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally with guests and co-workers in English with some understanding of Spanish
- Must be able to read and comprehend orders on mobile device and printed tickets
- Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds, also twist, bend, push, pull, turn and reach
- Must be able to stand for entire shift, walk up and down stairs, and walk long distances during the shift
- Must have expert knowledge of Santa Anita Park Suite locations in order to accurately and quickly deliver guest orders
- Must be able to troubleshoot technology in case device malfunctions in order to maintain constant flow of information
- Able to accurately ring in all F&B orders and follow appropriate cash handling policy
- Has superior customer service and problem resolution abilities
- Has Food Handler’s card and understands basic hygiene and sanitation
- Must maintain a positive and upbeat attitude
Job Duties:
- Works as a team with other Suite Attendants and Captain to provide the highest level of service to each suite guest and owner
- Reviews and understands Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Function Sheets at the beginning of each shift and ensures each suite is set accordingly
- Greets and engages all guests and owners on arrival
- Reviews BEOs with group host on arrival to confirm accuracy of order, timeline and other details
- Uses handheld technology (mobile) device to take guest orders, check existing orders, or process payment
- Ensures a la carte orders are accurate and delivered with the appropriate condiments and utensils
- Have a good understanding of food and beverage menu items, and able to communicate details of those items to guests when asked
- Manage buffet or reception station replenishing and cleanliness
- Have a good working knowledge of cocktails, wine and beer menu, including specialty cocktails. Serve Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic drinks promptly and accurately for service following SAP Alcohol Policies. Properly open and pour wine and champagne.
- Completes side duties as assigned before, during, and after service including restocking complimentary items, paper goods, glassware and any additional assigned tasks from Captain or Management
- Serves as an ambassador for the online system by answering questions about the online ordering platform, pick-ups & deliveries, and the benefits of using the system
- Assists guests in placing online orders or order troubleshooting
- Resolves guest issues in a timely fashion, or escalates to the appropriate manager
- Collaborates with Captain and Manager to create opportunities to go above and beyond to create memorable events for guests and owners.
- Keeps staging areas, jack trays and guest suites organized and free of clutter. Removes trash and dirty dishes on a timely basis to ensure high level of service and clean suite appearance.
- Maintains appropriate health and safety standards according to County codes, guidelines, and SAP standards
- Supports other tasks as needed by F&B management
