Job Goal |
To increase and improve parent/family and community involvement in the WRUSD through training and open communication under the supervision of the building administrator and in collaboration with the Office of Federal Projects/Dine Language and Culture Programs. To provide services that will improve student attendance and help them to successfully complete their education. |

Essential Duties |
Primary contact for parent training and parent activities at the school site. Assists with student attendance by calling parents/guardians of students and makes home visits when necessary. Confers with parents/guardians and other community resources regarding educational, social and personal problems of students. Maintains at all times a confidential, private, professional attitude in working with students, teachers, parents and community resources. Maintains appropriate records of student’s family contacts. Develop, maintain and distribute parent training and parent activity calendar to the community. Provide parent training and activities at times that are most convenient to parents. Under appropriate supervision, prepare and present instructional activities and lessons to parents in both the Diné and western cultures. Provide guidance and resources for parents to actively participate in their child’s education. Coordinate all activities within the program including parent involvement & observation in classroom activities, Title I parent organization, student-parent-teacher conferences, parent school visitation, and School Improvement Plan. Implementation of program goals and objectives including evaluation and reporting per federal projects guidelines. Assist in student enrollment & recruitment process. Prepare requisitions and order program supplies and materials. Perform clerical duties as required including word processing, typing, inventory, filing etc. Maintain the general neatness and attractiveness of the parent center. Participate in workshops and training as required. Observe all guidelines for confidentiality of information regarding students and parents. Ensure proper safety procedures for all students and parents. Submit monthly reports to supervisor Perform all other work related duties as assigned. |
