Job Description

An Inventory Controller is a fundamental role within logistics and supply chain management. This position involves overseeing and managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and optimizing stock control. Inventory Controllers play a crucial role in maintaining a well-organized supply chain and preventing issues like stockouts and overstock situations.

Job responsibilities

  • Regularly track and manage inventory levels.
  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect items for quality.
  • Organize inventory in a way that facilitates easy access and efficient order fulfillment.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts.
  • Initiate orders to replenish inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions.
  • Identify and address obsolete or excess inventory, making recommendations for disposition or liquidation.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide data for analysis.
  • Collaborate with various departments.
  • Seek opportunities to reduce waste and promote environmentally responsible inventory practices.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically the minimum requirement
  • Minimum 1 year work experience as Inventory Controller
  • (CPP) Certified Packaging Proffesional or,
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP): The APICS organization issued.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to optimize inventory levels.
  • Clear and effective communication is vital for coordination with different departments.
  • Ability to work effectively both on an individual basis and as part of a team
  • The ability to address discrepancies, make recommendations, and implement corrective actions to maintain accurate inventory.
