What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Transporter position at TSAOG Orthopedic & Spine?
JOB SUMMARY: The Patient Transporter assists patients by transporting them to and from Radiology, and around the clinic.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Clinical & Ambulatory Services
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Cordially greet and guide visitors and patient
- Transport patients to and from the radiology area
- Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement
- Transports equipment and supplies as needed
- Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state regulations
- Requires regular and predictable attendance
- Processes and Input x-ray orders in Radiology Programs and EMR
- Import incoming Xray disk images
- Burn Xray Images onto disks for patients
- Grab patients from cast room as needed for x-rays
- Greets patients. Provides compassion.
- Prompt patient movement throughout the Radiology Dept and Clinic
- Helps patients in & out of wheelchair as needed
- Problem solves basic and routine computer problems and x-ray processes
- Trains all incoming Patient Transporters on order entry and patient chart charging
- Assist with room preparation/disinfection and stocking supplies
EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D.
SKILLS: Extraordinary customer service skills. Must be customer-focused.
ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels (patients, internal/external customers).
OTHER: Other duties as assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed, by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires continuous walking patients to and from departments. Bending, stooping, lifting patients, pushing patients in wheelchairs. Etc.
