Job description:
We are currently seeking a motivated engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge fiber optic sensor solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Development of process of packaging / embedding of optical fiber into composite materials.
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA) on embedded fiber optic sensors
- Development of technical process of retrieving or coupling of optical fiber from the composite materials
- Lab testing fiber optic sensors embedded in composite materials
- Development of an automatic testing process for fiber optic sensors
- Setting up packaging operations as a pathway for industrial volume manufacturing
Your Profile
You enjoy an autonomous work environment where you can take ownership and make a difference and are eager to continue independent learning. Beyond a curious and open mind and a sense of accountability for your work, candidates should possess the following qualities:
- Bachelor or higher in optical or electrical engineering or adjacent field.
- At least 2 years of experience in fiber optics, familiar with various fiber optic testing tools, such as fusion splicing tools, strippers for special coatings, power meters
- Experience for optical fiber drawing
- Experience with DTS, DSS, FBG interrogators is preferred.
- Experience with programming languages for automation such as LabView/Python/Matlab.
- Prior industrial experience ideally
- Excellent proficiency of English along with strong communication skills.
- Eligible to work in US or able to obtain a TN Visa
Start date: As soon as possible
Salary : $80,000 - $130,000
