Overview
The Planogram Writer plays a key role in creating, maintaining, and optimizing planograms that guide in-store merchandising execution for TruX Retail Partner’s Big Y Program. This position ensures that each schematic accurately reflects category strategy, product assortment, and retail standards, supporting field execution and driving consistency across all locations.
As part of the TruX operations team, the Planogram Writer combines attention to detail with collaboration and problem-solving—helping bridge the gap between category planning and in-store execution. This role directly supports our mission of truth, trust, and true execution, ensuring what’s planned is achievable, efficient, and right for the retailer.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain planograms for assigned categories in alignment with retailer and manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure accuracy of product placement, facings, measurements, and store-specific variations.
- Collaborate with category managers, retail partners, and field teams to ensure planograms are executable and reflect current strategies.
- Validate planogram accuracy through product data, item files, and visual compliance checks.
- Review and troubleshoot discrepancies in store execution feedback and adjust planograms accordingly.
- Manage timelines and deliverables to ensure planograms are completed prior to reset cycles.
- Support the Planogram Manager with project tracking, data integrity, and communication of category updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation and version control within internal systems.
- Represent TruX professionalism and partnership in all retailer communications.
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in retail merchandising, planogram writing, or category management.
- Proficient with planogram software (e.g., Blue Yonder / JDA, Apollo, or similar).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret product data, fixture dimensions, and category strategy direction.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with field and retailer teams.
- Highly dependable, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
