About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Formulator who knows gummy development inside and out — from the first bench trial to a full commercial run. You'll lead formulation projects end to end, owning everything from ingredient selection and R&D testing to scale-up and production support. This isn't a behind-the-desk role. You'll be in the lab, on the floor, and in the conversation — working closely with operations, QA, and customers to bring products to life that are technically sound, great tasting, and built to scale.

Responsibilities
Formulation Development
- Create and refine gummy formulations using vitamins, minerals, botanicals, proteins, creatine, and other functional ingredients
- Work with hydrocolloid and sweetener systems to achieve desired texture and taste profiles
- Run ingredient testing for stability, compatibility, and sensory performance
Production & Scale-Up
- Take formulas from bench-top trials through pilot runs and into full-scale manufacturing
- Identify and resolve issues across cooking, depositing, drying, and packaging
- Partner with production teams to build formulas that are consistent, efficient, and line-ready
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all products meet FDA and GMP requirements
- Support QA and regulatory workflows including Supplement Facts Panels, ingredient declarations, and COAs
- Keep detailed and accurate formulation records and technical documentation
Innovation & Sourcing
- Evaluate new raw materials for quality, cost-effectiveness, and production viability
- Keep a pulse on trends in functional ingredients and gummy delivery formats
- Work alongside suppliers and flavor partners to drive product innovation
Team Collaboration
- Offer technical guidance to internal teams and external clients throughout the product development process
- Support business development conversations with formulation expertise
- Help develop junior team members and uphold best practices across the formulation function
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of hands-on experience in gummy, confectionery, or nutraceutical formulation and scale-up
- Deep knowledge of hydrocolloids, sweetener systems, flavors, and active ingredient stability
- Experience with sensory evaluation, stability testing, and manufacturing troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations and GMP standards for dietary supplements
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
