Trustpoint is excited to partner with a boutique litigation firm in search of a Litigation Legal Assistant to join its growing team. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to support attorneys handling a variety of litigation matters while playing a key role in case management, client communication, and day-to-day legal operations. Candidates with insurance defense litigation experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, draft, proofread, and manage legal correspondence and litigation-related documents
- Coordinate and maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines
- Prepare, file, and track pleadings, motions, and other legal documents through state and federal e-filing systems
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding scheduling and case updates
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
- Assist with trial preparation, deposition coordination, and other litigation support activities
- Support attorneys with case management and administrative tasks throughout all phases of litigation
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or similar legal support professional within a litigation environment
- Experience supporting insurance defense litigation matters preferred
- Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and litigation workflows
- Experience with state and federal e-filing systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Additional Details:
- Direct hire opportunity
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Location: Southfield, MI
- First 60 days fully onsite, followed by a hybrid schedule with 1–2 remote days per week
