What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Litigation Paralegal position at Trustpoint.One?
Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a plaintiff’s catastrophic injury law firm in its search for an experienced paralegal with knowledge of the Philadelphia court rules and filing procedures. The paralegal will assist during all phases of litigation, from legal intake, pre-suit investigation, to trial preparation and trial. The position also entails assisting in general team tasks such as calendaring, filing, and drafting and sending correspondence. The position will sit in the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Civil Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting investigations, legal research, and case assessments
- Filing pleadings, motions, and other court documents
- Maintaining organized and indexed files
- Assisting with preparation of discovery responses
Assisting with expert retention and related communications
- Assisting with legal assistant duties (calendaring, correspondence, filing) as necessary
Qualifications:
- Five or more years’ experience as a legal assistant/litigation paralegal
- Civil litigation experience including Pennsylvania filing procedures including knowledge of motions, discovery, documentation and court. Experience with New Jersey filing procedures and practices is a plus.
- Experience with catastrophic cases is a plus.
- Highly organized with ability to manage deadlines
- Extensive knowledge of service procedures
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Applicable computer program familiarity or expertise (Word, Excel, PDF, etc.)
- Case management system knowledge
