Trustpoint is excited to partner with a midsized, collaborative law firm in their search of a Certified Public Accountant to join their trusts and estates and tax practice. This onsite, direct-hire role is based in Minneapolis, MN. This role will work closely with a team of trusts and estates, elder law, probate, and tax attorneys, providing integrated legal and tax advisory services. Successful candidates will have 3 years of tax preparation experience in a CPA firm or law firm. A juris doctorate is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare individual, trust, estate, and gift tax returns
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Represent clients in administrative tax matters, including audits and collection proceedings
- Conduct research on federal and state tax laws and regulations
- Draft and review legal memoranda, opinions, and tax-related documents
- Gather and analyze financial information and communicate recommendations clearly to clients
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff on legal and tax matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school (preferred)
- Active CPA license (required)
- 3–5 years of tax preparation experience
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation:
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, education and certifications, including 401(k) with employer match, comprehensive insurance options, paid parental leave, PTO, and other benefits. Expected salary range is 100k-150k.
