Overview:
The Head of Finance is TrustedTech’s forward-looking financial strategist who translates business ambition into financial clarity. This role works in close partnership with the Founder/CVO, CRO, Controller, and cross-functional leadership. The Head of Finance owns financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and the strategic financial frameworks that drive informed decision-making at every level of the organization.
The Head of Finance is expected to be proactive in surfacing financial risks before they become operational problems and to be a credible strategic voice in discussions about pricing, compensation, growth investments, and capital allocation. They bring structure to ambiguity, insight to data, and a profitability mindset to every engagement.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis
- Own the company’s annual budgeting process and rolling financial forecast, including business unit-level planning, headcount modeling, and revenue and margin projections.
- Develop and maintain financial models that support strategic decision-making across the business, including scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and investment return analysis.
- Provide regular, actionable financial performance reporting to the executive team, translating complex data into clear insights that drive decisions rather than just document history.
- Lead variance analysis against budget and forecast, identifying root causes and surfacing recommendations for course correction.
- Build the “Bible of Metrics” in partnership with the Controller and the executive leadership team, defining the single source of truth for recurring revenue by segment, churn, gross margin, deal velocity, and other KPIs critical to TrustedTech’s high-growth trajectory.
Revenue Visibility & Future Revenue Reporting
- Own visibility and reporting on contracted future revenue, deals that close today but begin billing in future periods.
- Partner with the CRO and Sales leadership to build financial frameworks that accurately reflect revenue recognition timing, commission payable periods, and cash flow implications.
- Ensure Finance is involved in building out the RevOps/FinOps functions, providing financial guardrails on deal structure, billing terms, and revenue recognition treatment.
Strategic Financial Partnering
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Founder/CVO and CRO, translating financial data into growth strategy and risk visibility.
- Partner with the CRO to align financial planning with revenue strategy, go-to-market investments, and sales compensation design.
- Support pricing, packaging, and licensing decisions with rigorous financial analysis, ensuring proposed structures are sustainable and margin-accretive.
- Contribute to capital allocation decisions, identifying where investment drives the highest return and where cost discipline is needed.
Performance Management & Business Intelligence
- Assist with building and maintaining financial dashboards and reporting infrastructure that give leadership real-time visibility into gross margin, operating margin, revenue quality, and business unit performance.
- Analyze financial performance across customers, services, and revenue streams, identifying patterns, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic and operational decisions in partnership with the Data Insights & Analytics team.
Financial Systems & Infrastructure
- Partner with the Controller to ensure financial systems (NetSuite, AppDirect, and adjacent platforms) support both operational accuracy and strategic reporting needs.
- Contributes to the design of scalable financial infrastructure, from reporting frameworks to data architecture, that can support TrustedTech’s growth.
- Assist with establishing standards for how Finance data flows into and out of the data warehouse, BI tools, and executive reporting with leadership and internal operations teams.
Cash Flow, Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Maintain visibility into cash flow, working capital, and liquidity position, flagging risks proactively and recommending management actions.
- Support the Controller and Interim CFO on audit readiness, compliance requirements, and external stakeholder reporting as needed.
- Identify and quantify financial and operational risks across the business, building frameworks for ongoing risk monitoring and mitigation.
Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves):
- 8-10 years of progressive finance leadership experience with a proven track record in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Finance Operations.
- At least 4 years in a high-growth SaaS, cloud services, technology, or Microsoft partner environment with familiarity with subscription-based revenue models and recurring billing complexity is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Expert-level understanding of SaaS unit economics (LTV, CAC, NRR, GRR, and Magic Number), with the ability to not just report them, but use them to influence strategy.
- Mastery of complex, multi-variable financial modeling, capable of building a 3-statement rolling forecast that accounts for complex deferred revenue and future-dated billing.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with GTM (Go-To-Market) and Sales leadership to influence pricing, packaging, and sales incentive design.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, and familiarity with the integration of billing platforms (e.g., AppDirect, Chargebee) and CRM (Salesforce).
- Experience presenting to and influencing Founders and Executive Leadership, delivering difficult financial news with clarity and solution-oriented thinking.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves):
- An MBA from a top-tier program or a CPA/CFA designation is preferred.
- Background that includes both operational finance (close support, controls) and strategic finance (FP&A, planning), enabling a credible partnership with the Controller.
- Deep experience in modeling and governing complex commission structures for high-volume sales teams.
- Experience working with or alongside a data/analytics team to build a centralized financial reporting infrastructure or a data warehouse.
- Experience managing finance functions for multi-entity, international organizations with intercompany complexities.

- Executive Presence: Communicates financial complexity clearly and credibly to founders, revenue leaders, and cross-functional partners.
- Analytical Rigor: Uses data to drive clarity, challenge assumptions, and surface insights others miss.
