What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Trusted Tire & Auto?
Trusted Tire & Auto
Assistant Manager
Every great store needs a right hand.
The Assistant Manager is the day-to-day force multiplier for the Store Manager- the person who keeps the shop sharp, the team aligned, and the standard high when things get busy or messy (because they will). This role is not about titles or checking boxes. It’s about command presence, operational discipline, and the ability to step in, take control, and move the business forward without drama. When the Store Manager is out, the Assistant Manager is the one the team looks to. And when the Store Manager is in, the Assistant Manager is making sure execution never slips.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a leader with presence and backbone- someone who can run the floor, coach people, and hold the line without needing permission for every move.
This role is a fit for someone who:
- Commands respect through consistency and integrity
- Is comfortable holding the line and having hard conversations when standards slip
- Understands how people, pace, and profit connect
- Can balance urgency with professionalism
- Has mechanical inclination or real shop exposure (strongly preferred)
- Doesn’t need to be the smartest technician to lead great ones
If you’re the person others naturally defer to when things get chaotic, this seat is built for you.

People & Performance Leadership
- Lead from the floor—coaching in real time, correcting in the moment
- Hold attendance, performance, and behavior standards without hesitation
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development efforts
- Address issues early and escalate appropriately
- Set the tone: professional, focused, and accountable
Business & Results Focus
- Support scheduling, labor control, and productivity expectations
- Monitor workflow, ticket quality, and operational efficiency
- Reinforce the Trusted Tire sales and service process
- Protect inventory, margins, and company assets
