Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report changes in condition
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper sanitation in living spaces
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations and agency policies
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or group home settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, autism support, or memory care is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically assist clients with mobility needs safely
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
