Design Studio Partner (Advanced & Regulated Products)Company: Trustbridge (via Vulcury LLC)Location: United States (Remote; domestic presence required)Engagement: Partner-level role (base equity / profit participation)Reports to: Trustbridge LeadershipScope: Design delivery & studio leadership (not CEO / GM role)Role OverviewTrustbridge is seeking a Design Studio Partner to lead and scale its domestic design capability for advanced, regulated, and high-complexity manufacturing projects. This role is best described as a partner-level domain lead: you own design delivery, technical quality, and client confidence—but you are not expected to run the entire business.Trustbridge operates as a supplier-first manufacturing matchmaking platform with a global execution footprint, including an India-based design team. This role exists to anchor domestic design leadership, particularly for projects requiring US-based oversight, ITAR-adjacent compliance, elevated documentation standards, or high client trust.You will be accountable for design outcomes, not just advice.What You Own (Core Accountability)Design Delivery & QualityOwn end-to-end delivery of domestic design projects, from intake through manufacturable releaseSet and enforce design standards, documentation rigor, and review processesAct as final technical authority for complex or sensitive engagementsEnsure designs are production-ready across CNC, injection molding, and advanced fabricationStudio Leadership (Not People Hoarding)Lead a hybrid onshore/offshore design model in partnership with Trustbridge’s India-based teamReview, guide, and escalate work—without becoming a bottleneckDefine when work should remain domestic vs be executed offshoreContinuously improve throughput, quality, and handoff efficiencyClient Interface & Trust BuildingServe as senior technical counterpart for customers with elevated requirementsLead design reviews, feasibility discussions, and DFM conversationsTranslate ambiguous customer needs into clear technical directionBuild confidence with buyers who care deeply about compliance, risk, and execution qualityWhat You Are Not Responsible ForRunning Trustbridge as a businessManaging company-wide sales, finance, or fundraisingActing as CEO or GMBuilding marketing strategy from scratchYou will support demand generation through technical credibility and client trust—but you are not the primary growth engine.Ideal Candidate ProfileExperience10–20 years in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing engineeringDeep experience in regulated or high-spec environments (ITAR, defense, aerospace, medical, or similar)Strong DFM/DFA judgment across multiple manufacturing processesPrior leadership of design delivery teams or studios (formal or informal)Mindset & FitThinks like an owner within a defined domainComfortable with accountability, not just influenceValues execution quality over empire buildingCan collaborate with sales, ops, and suppliers without needing to control themInterested in long-term value creation, not short-term contractingEngagement StructurePartner-level role with meaningful equity or profit participationBase compensation appropriate for scope and time commitmentLong-term orientation; this is not a short-term consulting engagementOpportunity to grow influence as Trustbridge’s design volume and complexity increaseExact structure will be tailored based on experience, availability, and desired level of involvement.Why This Role Is CompellingTrue ownership over a critical capability, not a narrow job descriptionAbility to build a high-quality design studio without carrying full CEO riskLeverage a global execution engine while anchoring domestic credibilityDirect impact on real products entering productionAligned incentives with platform growth, not billable hoursCompany DescriptionTrustbridge is a supplier-first design and manufacturing matchmaking platform that connects buyers with vetted global manufacturers across CNC, injection molding, additive manufacturing, and more.
