Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving person to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods in and out of our manufacturing process and warehouse. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Accurately process incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all packages are correctly labeled and documented.
- Utilize warehouse equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks to move products safely within the facility.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment at all times.
- Maintain a clean driving record in order to serve as back-up delivery van driver.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with order fulfillment processes and basic math skills for inventory management.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and reach trucks is highly desirable.
- Experience with JobBOSS or similar software systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Experience using UPS, FED-Ex, and USPS shipping software/sites.
- Experienced in international packaging, shipping and customs documentation.
- Ability to build/assemble shipping crates - requires capability to operate circular saws, nail/screw guns, and other wood working tools.
- Responsible for packaging product sensitive to damage in shipment. Must follow packaging directions, and be able to make additional suggestions to prevent damage to product in shipment.
