We are seeking a devoted, high-integrity Procurement Engineer / Process Engineer to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring that customer requirements are fully understood, materials are sourced effectively, and internal processes are aligned to deliver high-quality, compliant products. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering, purchasing, and production while maintaining a strong focus on quality, traceability, and efficiency.
Procurement Engineer / Process Engineer Responsibilities
- Perform detailed contract and specification review to ensure full understanding of customer requirements, codes, and standards
- Source raw materials and outside services in alignment with technical, quality, and delivery requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and vendors
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and improve manufacturing processes and workflows
- Interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and customer requirements
- Support production by resolving material or process-related issues
- Interface with customers as needed to clarify requirements, address technical questions, and support project execution
- Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, and internal quality standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and lead time optimization
- Support documentation, traceability, and quality records for nuclear safety-related work
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field preferred)
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, or process engineering (nuclear or highly regulated industry preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with material sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain processes is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP system experience preferred
