The Company:
TruNorth Solar is a rapidly growing Residential and Commercial Solar Installation and Service Company operating in Arden Hills, MN. We are looking for an Inside Sales Development Specialist to handle a high volume of inquiries and guide prospective solar customers through the initial stages of the sales process. Our approach is consultative, building long-lasting relationships with our customers, often over-performing on their expectations of experience.
Opportunity:
This full-time position will play a crucial role in the customer’s initial experience at TruNorth Solar as the first point of contact. The main focus will be handling inbound customer inquiries, while representing our brand with professionalism and making a great first impression. Supporting the sales team, this position will work on quick response times, building rapport, creating relationships and gaining trust, helping to qualify leads, and setting up consultations. This position is also responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, assisting with the TruNorth referral program, and supporting the sales and business development team as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Inside Sales Development: Act as the first point of contact for inbound customer communication, gathering information, and entering new leads and service requests into the CRM. Conduct initial basic consultations identifying customer needs to qualify or disqualify leads. Schedule qualified leads for consultations with our Energy Consultants. Manage incoming calls and emails to engage with and assist existing and potential customers. Make outbound follow-ups to voicemails, emails, and form fills to re-engage prospects quickly and efficiently. Identify opportunities to cross sell complementary products and services, and encourage new business, repeat business, and referrals.
- Customer Relationship Management: Enhance the overall customer experience by providing timely and accurate responses and exceptional customer service. Build and maintain strong rapport and relationships with potential and existing customers. Act as the primary point of contact for elevated customer inquiries.
- Sales Support & Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales and service initial activity. Review new lead active sales pipeline, tracking progress and ensuring consistent follow-up with potential customers, utilizing CRM systems to manage customer interactions and track sales pipeline progress.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate the inside sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Seek feedback from the sales team and customers to identify areas for optimization.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: Capture lead sources, track sales performance metrics, analyze data, and provide regular reports to management, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Referral Program Assistance: Help manage our Referral Rewards Program and accompanying App, entering new referrals, creating ‘Advocate’ accounts for referrers, communicating with customers, and ensuring user activity prior to rewards payments.
- Technical Expertise: Gain a strong understanding of solar energy systems, processes, and installation practices affecting sales and service conversations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., marketing, operations, installation) to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Other Service, Sales, and Marketing Support: Perform other administrative or support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to build rapport, maintain strong relationships with customers, and possess a professional demeanor with a friendly, engaging attitude.
- Highly organized self-starter with time management experience, who can prioritize multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of teams.
- Computer proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, CRMs, and other web applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Prior experience in an inside sales or customer service role.
- Knowledge of the solar industry is a plus.
The Role:
- Reporting to the Marketing Manager at TruNorth Solar.
- The role will require the candidate to be in the Arden Hills, MN, office.
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000, Skill and Experience Dependent.
