Pool General Maintenance - Full Time

Position Purpose:

To maintain pool area in good condition by cleaning and performing repairs, ensuring it remains attractive and well-kept. These assignments relate to a variety of trades that include but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, drywall, painting, wall covering, tiling, masonry and locks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Inspect pool area, including all chairs, cabanas, floors, and back of the house areas to clean, repair, touch up or replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall covering, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous repairs. This requires the individual to possess considerable knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades in order to visually inspect and detect items needing repair. Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical experience is used frequently on the job. Performing these duties requires experience in using basic hand and power tools and the ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push and pull weights up to 80 lbs. 
• The ability to climb ladders up to 30 ft. high and reach in all directions, often time’s overhead, is required.
• Detailed record keeping in English is required for logs, inspection sheets, and by using computers.
• Responsible to develop and provide written feedback on a quarterly schedule as to the responsibilities and essential functions as outlined in the Position Description.

OTHER:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry that we are in a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing guest satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operations will call upon us for support in order to ensure guest satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.

• Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
• Report major deficiencies and items, which cannot be readily repaired, to the direct supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES:

Assimilate into Trump National Doral - Miami  Service Culture Standards through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones.  Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. The resort provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Leader.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of resort equipment.
• Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electric tools).
• English language communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers, fully comprehend job assignments, and perform accurate simple arithmetic functions.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling.
• Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet, for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach, often times overhead.
• Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally waist high.
• Ability to move and work throughout the resort for the duration of the shift.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from trade school or a combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

No Licenses required.

GROOMING:

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
