PRN Respiratory Therapy Student/Intern - Respiratory Therapy - UH Lakewood Medical Center (varied shifts per week) 101 Truman Medical Center Job Location UH Lakewood Medical Center Kansas City, Missouri Department Respiratory Therapy UHLMC Position Type Part time Work Schedule varied Hours Per Week 4 Job Description Respiratory Therapy Student – PRN Location: UH Lakewood Department: Respiratory Therapy Join our patient-focused team and gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your Respiratory Therapy education. Under the supervision of a credentialed Respiratory Therapist, you will administer respiratory treatments and tests, maintain equipment, and contribute to high-quality patient care across all age groups. What You’ll Do Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and diagnostic tests Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment Document procedures and patient information accurately Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team Provide care in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Currently enrolled in an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program Completed at least the 1st semester of clinical rotations Current Missouri education permit Current CPR certification (required for continued employment) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; assistance required for heavier loads Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of the human development process and ability to work with all ages RRT credential must be obtained within six weeks of program graduation Preferred Candidate Traits Passion for patient care Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills Commitment to learning and professional growth Working at University Health is about making a difference.
