Position Summary: University Health is seeking a Cultural Health Navigator (CHN) to support equitable healthcare access for refugee, immigrant, and underserved communities. In this vital role, you’ll help patients overcome cultural and linguistic barriers by providing interpretation, navigation support, and resource connection to ensure access to care and community services. You'll play a central role in promoting health equity, screening for social needs, and guiding patients—particularly Black, Hispanic, and uninsured populations—through healthcare systems with empathy, cultural understanding, and personalized support. What You’ll Need: Associate’s degree or equivalent education/experience Proficient in the English and Spanish language required At least 1 year of healthcare interpretation experience (preferred) Successful completion of Bridging the Gap, JCCC, SBA, or equivalent Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills Deep understanding of immigrant/refugee cultural, social, and economic needs Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) High empathy, strong self-awareness, and a passion for community impact Preferred Qualifications: Community Health Worker and/or National Healthcare Interpreter Certification Proven ability to build trust and navigate diverse community relationships Why Join Us? ✅ Empower vulnerable communities ✅ Shape a more inclusive healthcare system ✅ Be a voice and a guide for those who need it most Working at University Health is about making a difference.
