Clinical Athletic Trainer II - Lakewood Orthopedic Clinic - 101 Truman Medical Center Job Location UH Lakewood Medical Center Kansas City, Missouri Department Clinic Orthopedic UHLMC Position Type Full time Work Schedule 7:30AM - 4:00PM Hours Per Week 40 Job Description Under the supervision of a Clinical practitioner, the Clinical Athletic Trainer acts in the capacity of a clinic flow coordinator to ensure the daily operations of the clinic flow on time for the physician in which they are working. Key responsibilities include pre-clinic planning, obtaining patients records for appointments, acquiring prior authorizations for potential procedures perform in clinic that day and following the patient from the time of arrival to their time of departure and making sure all the patients and doctor’s needs are met to provide the best physician/patient experience and outcomes as possible. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology or Exercise Science BLS certification Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of Missouri – must maintain current license to remain in the position 2-4 years’ experience providing leadership in a clinic setting Experience providing training and education to individuals and groups Demonstrated core values of customer focus, teamwork, and professional communication. Excellent communication skills, and ability to effective communicate with patients and all levels of clinic staff Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical office Must complete preceptor training and retain knowledge for UH preceptor assigned work Preferred Qualifications Experience in an Orthopedic Clinic setting Working at University Health is about making a difference.
