What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Forester position at Trumbull Forest Products?
Position Summary:
Trumbull Forest Products Inc is hiring a full-time Procurement Forester. The person filling this position should be proficient at all duties required of a procurement forester. This includes all aspects of locating, assessing, pricing and negotiating the purchase and successful harvest of standing timber to supply logs to our Atlantic, PA sawmill.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain a good working relationship with our wood source suppliers
- Proven experience in forestry management or a related field is essential.
- All aspects of purchasing standing timber.
- Locate and mark boundary lines.
- Cruise standing timber for quantity.
- Appraise timber for quality and value.
- Locate skid roads and landing locations.
- Apply costs to all aspects of timber sale preparation and harvesting.
- Due diligence in purchasing.
- Title research.
- Qualify properties in advance of timber cruising.
- Apply for various types of permits
- All aspects of oversight of harvest of standing timber sales.
- Visit harvest sites to determine if BMPs are being used appropriately.
- Assure boundary lines are being observed.
- Determine whether residual damage is acceptable.
- Check to see that the proper trees are being cut.
Other Duties:
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Requirements

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
