Position Overview
- Liberty Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the 3rd grade. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that foster student curiosity and critical thinking, while providing a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state educational standards for 3rd grade.
- Design and deliver interactive lessons that encompass various teaching methods, including group activities, hands-on projects, and technology integration.
- Assess student learning through regular evaluations, assignments, and class participation, providing constructive feedback to guide student improvement.
- Facilitate discussions that connect classroom learning to real-world situations, encouraging students to think critically and creatively.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to integrate cross-curricular learning experiences.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with educational best practices and innovations.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrative staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education; experience or additional training in teaching 3rd grade preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging lesson plans.
- Strong understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learners.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with differentiated instruction and a variety of assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with current educational trends and methodologies in elementary education.
- Proven ability to motivate students and engage them in extracurricular activities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students and staff for extended periods.
Additional Information
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
