Staff Collaborative Pianist

Job Responsibilities
The Truman State University Department of Music invites applications for the position of Staff Collaborative Pianist. This is a nine-month, renewable, benefits-eligible position to begin in August 2024.
  • Collaborate with vocal and instrumental students in lessons, juries, and recitals.
  • Collaborate with faculty and guest artists in performances.
  • Support ensemble performances as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

The Community: Located in northeast Missouri, Kirksville is a cultural and economic hub in the region. In addition to being the home of Truman, Kirksville is the birthplace of osteopathic medicine and features a medical school, dental school and community college, and the Kirksville School District is consistently recognized for academic excellence. The community takes pride in several annual events including the Red, White and Blue Festival and the FLATS Trail Half-Marathon. The charming downtown area features an arts center, as well as several local shops and restaurants. Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in collaborative piano or piano performance.
  • Excellent collaborative performance skills.
  • Excellent sight-reading skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to collegiality within the learning community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ABD or doctorate in collaborative piano or piano performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumental and vocal repertoire.
  • Accompanying experience beyond graduate assistantship.

Salary
The salary for this position is $34,416 annually.
