Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Youth Care Worker to provide dedicated support and care to young individuals in need. In this vital role, you will foster a safe, nurturing environment while assisting with daily activities, behavioral management, and personal development. This position is Temporary for the Summer while kids are out of school. Hours are 8am- 4pm, 4pm-10pm. This can be full-time, part-time, or as needed shifts.
Duties
- Support youth with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation, promoting independence and dignity.
- Assist with medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed, ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia.
- Engage in behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including incident reports, care plans, and progress notes.
- Support residents during outings or transportation by driving safely and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and patient care procedures is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or autism spectrum disorder is a strong plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment such as a Hoyer lift or resident’s
transfer devices. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or hospice care are advantageous.
- Strong communication skills combined with conflict management abilities to foster a supportive environment.
