Purpose:
Direct and control parts operations within the dealership to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales growth, inventory control, staffing, and budgets. Optimizes parts department processes. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, communicate, enforce, and monitor effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction as well as Parts Department efficiencies.
- Works with the location's location leader, Service Manager, and Sales Manager to ensure the location operates properly.
- Promotes and merchandises parts, accessories, toys, and merchandise in conjunction with the corporate parts promotion schedule.
- Assists in creating and monitoring the annual Parts Department goals and budget, relative to parts sales, inventory management, and expense control.
- Completes required transactions completely and timely.
- Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual inventory and proper counter procedures.
- Maximizes use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals.
- Conducts correspondence with outside suppliers for Parts Department purchases, utilizing proper dealership practices.
- Ensures all department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order.
- Maintain, schedule, and participate in the location's the Afterhours Support System.
- Maintains a new, clean, attractive environment throughout the Parts Department area of responsibility.
- Manages recruiting, staffing and team member development activities for the Parts Department.
- Other appropriate duties as assigned by manager.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and manage other team members.
- 1-3 years of experience in parts operations or equivalent experience.
- Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to a Parts Department Operation.
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
- Valid driver's license required; driving record that meets Employer's insurance company requirements.
- Experience using standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office, internet applications, and apps.
- Ability to use a handheld barcode scanner.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
