Job Summary:
Midwest Center at Youngstown is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients struggling with addiction. Responsibilities:
- Guide patients through their detox process per the physician's orders
- Educate patients about their condition and assist the physician and ARNP with accurate clinical reporting
- Perform nursing assessments at intake and discharge nursing actions
- Administer prescribed medications and make independent decisions within your scope of practice
- Monitor and record patient care through our Electronic Health System
- Follow Universal Infections Control Precautions and maintain accurate logs of controlled substance distribution
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in nursing or higher
- 1 years of experience as a RN in a detox or similar treatment facility environment (strongly preferred)
- State RN license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Psychiatric nursing experience required
- Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of withdrawal pain and critically dangerous medical emergencies
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria and JCAHO Standards of Care for Behavioral Health
Additional Requirements:
- Electronic Health Record experience
- Ability to respond physically and calmly during emergency situations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
