Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Masonry Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using various masonry techniques. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal on diverse projects. Duties
- Measure, cut, and lay bricks, blocks, stone, and concrete units with precision according to blueprints and schematics.
- Mix and apply mortar or other adhesives to secure masonry materials effectively.
- Install rebar reinforcement and perform concrete forming to prepare structures for pouring and finishing.
- Operate power tools such as saws, drills, and mixers safely and efficiently on-site.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction and installation.
- Perform finishing tasks including concrete smoothing, plastering, stucco application, and caulking for a polished look.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary for lifting or moving large materials or structures.
- Participate in renovation and restoration projects by repairing existing masonry structures with precision.
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying, stone setting, tile laying, and stucco application.
- Proficiency in concrete finishing and forming processes for durable structural elements.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, levels, and measuring devices.
- Experience with power tools including saws, drills, mixers, and grinders for efficient work flow.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately for precise execution.
- Familiarity with rebar installation standards and metal stud framing practices.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation relevant to masonry tasks such as forklifts or cranes when needed.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites involving scaffolding, roofing work, or demolition activities.
- Capable of working in diverse environments including new construction sites or renovation projects requiring restoration skills.
