This senior leadership role will direct loan origination, underwriting, portfoliomanagement, and compliance across TruFund’s footprint while managing the full life cycle of SBA loan products.The VP will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure a high-impact,compliant, and scalable lending platform that meets the needs of small businesses in underserved communitiesnationwide. Reporting to the SVP & Chief Lending Officer the Loan Officer will work closely with borrowers and with members of the lending team to find the most suitable financing solutions for our clients and to effectively manage the loan process from origination through loan booking. The loan officer will continue to actively manage the borrower relationship throughout the term of the loan.Estimated Salary: $125,000-140,000 per year Bonus as well as a full benefits package that includes health, life,dental and disability insurance, sick leave, 4 weeks’ vacation and 12 paid holidays per year. In addition, the position will be remote but preferably based in the northeast region.About the Role:The Loan Officer will also a work directly with New York and New Jersey based community partners and those inour markets to source lending opportunities and to develop loan programs to support underserved small business.The Loan Officer will provide pre and post loan technical assistance, conduct initial credit analyst, developcashflow projections, loan packaging and support the Chief Lending Officer.Key Responsibilities:National Lending Strategy & Leadership• Lead the development and execution of TruFund’s national lending strategy in alignment with theorganization’s mission and growth goals.• Oversee lending teams and activities across all markets (NY, LA, AL, TX, GA) ensuring consistency,excellence, and impact.• Develop market-specific and national strategies to grow the loan portfolio, deepen client relationships,and expand TruFund’s reach.SBA Loan Portfolio Administration• Lead the full administration of TruFund’s SBA loan portfolio, including 7(a), Community Advantage, and504 loan programs.• Ensure SBA loan origination, underwriting, documentation, servicing, and reporting are fully compliantwith SBA regulations and TruFund’s internal controls.• Maintain strong relationships with the SBA, industry partners, and regulators to ensure TruFund remainsa high-performing and preferred lender.• Implement and manage internal policies, procedures, and controls to maintain a sound SBA loan program.Business Development & Community Engagement• Cultivate relationships with community partners, banks, government agencies, and economicdevelopment organizations to source high-quality lending opportunities.• Represent TruFund on national lending and CDFI panels, conferences, and working groups to elevatevisibility and influence in the industry.• Lead strategic efforts to attract new funding sources, including capital providers, grantmakers, andprogrammatic partners.Portfolio & Risk Management• Oversee credit quality and risk management of the national loan portfolio.• Monitor portfolio performance and coordinate with Chief Credit Officer on risk mitigation strategies asneeded.• Partner with finance and compliance teams to ensure robust reporting and internal audits.KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTSEducation and Related Work Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial lending, including significant experiencewith SBA loan programs.• Prior senior leadership work-related experience with community development lending, small businessadministration (SBA) loans, as well as traditional and alternative loan programs is also requiredKnowledge, skills, and abilities:• Deep knowledge of SBA loan programs, policies, and procedures.• Strong financial skills and ability to develop and interpret financial statements applied to businessaccounting and finance principles are required.• Superior analytical skills are required.• A working knowledge of Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan Programs, Policies and Procedures aswell as traditional and alternative Loan Programs is beneficial.• Must be proficient in Windows based software.• Ability to travel to visit prospective and current clients as necessary.• Must possess the ability to meet performance goals• Knowledge of the New York market including financial institutions, local government, and communityorganizations; and an understanding of local priorities, opportunities and challenges are preferred.• Strong commitment to community and economic development ideals• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people andorganizations, and in racially, ethnically and socioeconomically diverse environments.High degree of self-motivation, creativity and flexibility in face paced environment.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERCompany DescriptionTruFund Financial Services, Inc.
