Industrial Maintenance Technician
We are hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced recycling and manufacturing operation in Puyallup, WA. This role is ideal for someone with strong conveyor system experience and a solid background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance. You’ll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining critical equipment in a hands-on environment.
Compensation: $30 - $35/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00/4:00 PM (will transition into a split shift schedule); occasional Saturdays required
Location: Puyallup, WA
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on conveyor systems and related equipment
- Replace and repair rollers, bearings, chains, and conveyor components
- Change out worn parts including teeth and mechanical drive components
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including working with 480V 3-phase motors
- Program and troubleshoot VFD drives (required)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all safety protocols
- Document maintenance work, updates, and repairs in system logs
- Work with wire cutting, installation, and system modifications as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operations
Requirements:
- Strong experience with conveyor systems (required)
- Experience with roller, bearing, chain, and mechanical component replacement
- VFD programming and troubleshooting experience (required)
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Background in industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Experience working in manufacturing, recycling, or heavy industrial environments
- Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions (lifting, climbing, confined spaces, etc.)
- Willingness to work a changing schedule and occasional Saturdays
- Electrical training, certification, or relevant hands-on experience preferred
