Duties
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns using tax preparation software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, and specialized tax software.
- Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting tax documents to ensure accurate reporting.
- Stay current with tax law changes and ensure all filings comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, clarify details, and explain tax strategies or obligations.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize their financial outcomes while maintaining compliance.
- Conduct thorough review of completed returns for accuracy before submission; identify potential issues or discrepancies for resolution.
- Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and provide excellent customer service that encourages repeat business and referrals.
Skills
- Proven experience in tax preparation, including individual and corporate tax return filing; partnership tax expertise is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of tax law, compliance standards, and reporting requirements across various entities.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial management tools.
- Familiarity with tax preparation software platforms; ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing complex financial data and identifying key insights.
