Position Overview
As a Groundsman, you’ll support our tree care operations by assisting climbers and equipment operators with ground-level tasks. This role is critical to keeping the job site clean, safe, and efficient. It’s a physically demanding, hands-on position perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, being part of a team, and learning new skills in the tree care industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist climbers and crew leaders during tree removal, trimming, and pruning operations
- Load and unload tools and equipment from trucks
- Drag brush, wood, and debris to the chipper and operate the chipper safely
- Use hand tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, rakes, and blowers
- Set up and maintain safe work zones, including cones, signs, and flagging
- Clean up job sites thoroughly after each project
- Perform equipment and tool maintenance as directed
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Drug free, including THC
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of chainsaws and other landscaping tools (training provided)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Safety-conscious and team-oriented attitude
- Experience in landscaping, tree care, or outdoor labor preferred but not required
