TrueVision Eye Care | Full time | $18–$23 per hour
TrueVision Eye Care is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Optometric Technician to help our doctors care for patients in a busy practice. We provide comprehensive eye care as well as specialty services, including myopia management, binocular vision care, specialty contact lenses, and medical eye care.
Our technicians keep patient visits moving, gather accurate information, perform testing, and help patients feel comfortable. We will teach you our equipment and workflows. We are looking for someone who learns quickly, asks good questions, and follows through.
What you’ll do
- Obtain patient histories and document accurately in the electronic health record.
- Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, and other measurements.
- Perform retinal imaging and additional diagnostic testing as directed by the doctor.
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment and help maintain an efficient patient flow.
- Teach patients contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Assist with contact lens orders and other clinical tasks as needed.
- Communicate clearly with patients, doctors, and teammates.
What we’re looking for
- Dependable attendance and punctuality. Our doctors and patients count on technicians being present for scheduled shifts and communicating promptly when an unexpected issue arises.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
- The ability to learn new equipment and software, follow procedures, and apply feedback.
- A calm, professional manner with patients, even on busy days.
- Good judgment about when to solve a problem and when to ask for help.
- At least one year of optometric, ophthalmic, or other clinical experience is preferred. We will also consider candidates with strong patient care experience who can learn quickly.
- Specialty contact lens experience is a plus.
Schedule and benefits
This position is based at our Raleigh office location (9101 Leesville Rd, Ste 123 Raleigh, NC 27613) and requires availability Monday–Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Friday until 5:30 p.m. Schedules are typically published three to four weeks in advance.
Pay is $18–$23 per hour, based on relevant experience and skills. Benefits include paid holidays, accrued paid time off, a 401(k) with employer matching after eligibility requirements are met, and employee discounts on glasses and contact lenses.
