- Perform dental cleanings and oral examinations to assess patients' oral health
- Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants as necessary
- Conduct scaling and root planing procedures to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take dental x-rays and develop them for diagnostic purposes
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide personalized oral health advice
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, such as fillings or extractions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as needed
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with other members of the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and attend continuing education courses as required
- Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program and possession of a valid dental hygiene license
- Excellent knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, techniques, and equipment
