What You’ll Do

As a Field Operations Manager, you’ll lead with accountability and purpose, supporting field teams across multiple commercial construction projects to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient execution. You’ll:

  • Lead Field Performance: Supervise, coach, and develop assigned superintendents and field staff to build a high-performing field operations team.
  • Champion Safety: Promote jobsite safety across assigned projects and serve as the acting Safety Manager for work within your assigned span of control.
  • Drive Quality & Execution: Promote consistent field execution, quality control, and adherence to project plans, specifications, schedules, and TrueNorth standards.
  • Support Jobsites: Travel to project sites to conduct reviews, support field teams, evaluate performance, and provide hands-on operational guidance.
  • Develop Field Talent: Identify training needs, coordinate field training, and lead meetings or conference calls that support field performance objectives.
  • Improve Field Processes: Lead the development and improvement of field manuals, safety documentation, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support Recruiting & Staffing: Support and help lead recruiting efforts for field positions and assist with temporary field coverage when business needs require.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with project management, pre-construction, leadership, and other departments to ensure field performance supports company and client goals.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Field Leader: 8 years of experience in commercial construction, including at least 5 years in a supervisory field role.
  • Superintendent Background: Strong superintendent experience in commercial construction, including tenant improvement and ground-up construction with high-level finishes.
  • People-First Coach: Proven ability to lead field teams, coach employees, manage performance, and address issues professionally and effectively.
  • Safety & Quality Focused: Strong commitment to safety, quality, schedule performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Expert: Extensive knowledge of commercial construction practices, including blueprint reading, jobsite coordination, subcontractor management, and field documentation.
  • Organized Communicator: Exceptional communication, organization, planning, and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
  • Technology Comfortable: Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Procore; comfortable using technology to improve field operations.
  • Training Ready: Able to maintain CPR, First Aid, and OSHA training as required by TrueNorth.
  • Travel Ready: Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, up to 50% of the time as business needs require; valid driver’s license required.

Physical Demands

You’ll work at active construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, involving standing, walking, climbing, and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs. Expect extended hours, up to 12 hours per day, and significant driving to meet project needs.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Commercial construction: 8 years (Preferred)
  • Supervisory: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
