Social Media Intern

TrueNorth is looking for a Social Media Intern to join our Growth Marketing Team. If you're looking to grow in areas such as social media content planning and scheduling, brand storytelling and messaging consistency, and reporting on campaign performance, this might be the role for you! The Social Media Intern will support our digital growth efforts by elevating our social media presence, increasing engagement, and contributing to brand-aligned content creation that positions our expertise as thought leaders in the industries we serve.

Our internship program is an 11-week paid program, running May – August 2027. This position will be fully on site in our Cedar Rapids, IA office. Housing will be provided for those who do not have housing for the summer months in Cedar Rapids.

As a Social Media Intern, You Will

• Assist with writing, editing, and scheduling social media posts across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms
• Support the creation of graphics, video clips, and other multimedia assets for social content
• Monitor social media channels for trends, engagement opportunities, and community interaction
• Track and report on social media performance and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with marketing team members to support campaigns and content calendar execution
  
  

Education, Experience, & Skills

• Must be of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status, currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
• Proficient in Social Media scheduling tools such as Sprout, Hootsuite. Canva or Adobe preferred
• Prior internship or job experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• The ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in the insurance industry
