The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of True Independent Holdings (TIH) is a senior executive leader responsible for the financial strategy, performance, and operations of TIH and its portfolio of agencies. This role serves as a strategic partner to the CEO of TIH while maintaining a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Global CFO of Meet the People, ensuring alignment with global financial standards, reporting, and governance.
The CFO provides forward-looking financial leadership, brings rigor and clarity to decision-making, and ensures TIH is positioned for sustainable growth, profitability, and operational excellence within a global holding company structure.
Candidate Profile
You are a seasoned financial leader with experience leading finance and accounting organizations within lower-middle-market companies, ideally in agency, professional services, or business services environments. You understand the financial dynamics of a services-based organization—including bookings, backlog, utilization, revenue recognition, and margin management—across multiple operating units or practice areas.
You are fluent in GAAP accounting, comfortable navigating ERP platforms and systems change, and experienced in scaling financial infrastructure to support growth. You are collaborative, outward-facing, and confident partnering with a high-performing executive team locally and globally. You bring both precision and perspective—able to analyze historical performance, forecast future outcomes, and anticipate risks and opportunities. You build alignment across stakeholders and operate effectively within a matrixed, global organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO of TIH and the TIH leadership team
- Partner with the Global CFO of Meet the People to ensure consistency in financial reporting, controls, and governance
- Provide insight and guidance on growth initiatives, capital allocation, pricing strategy, and profitability
- Support M&A, investment evaluation, and integration activities as applicable
Financial Operations & Accounting Oversight
- Lead all accounting and finance operations across TIH, including order-to-cash, billing, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Oversee client billing practices including invoice timing, advance billing, payment terms, and sales tax compliance
- Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and safeguard company assets
- Continuously improve systems, processes, and controls; integrate new technologies to increase efficiency and scalability
- Lead, develop, and mentor a finance and accounting team with 3–4 direct reports
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Partner with agency leaders, practice heads, and business unit executives on forecasting, budgeting, and performance management
- Oversee forecasting of revenue, bookings, backlog, and cost drivers
- Deliver timely and actionable analysis of operating results at both the agency and holding-company level
- Report on client, project, and practice profitability
- Lead the annual budget and rolling forecast (6 6) process
- Support new business pricing, estimating, and margin analysis
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to TIH leadership and Meet the People global finance team
- Benchmark performance against quarterly, annual, and long-range strategic plans
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee income tax preparation, financial audits, and external reporting obligations
Enterprise & Annual Responsibilities
- Help oversee financial aspects of employee benefit and retirement programs in partnership with MTP Operations
- Help manage business insurance programs including liability, workers’ compensation, and related coverage when needed with MTP Operations
- Maintain banking relationships and oversee treasury and cash management
Systems, Process & Governance
- Partner with IT leadership to evaluate and optimize ERP and financial systems
- Drive improvements in reporting, data visibility, and operational workflows
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Oversee management reporting for multiple stakeholders, including global leadership
- Manage incentive structures including bonus and sales commission plans
- Support contract governance, including NDAs, SOWs, and client agreements

- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including managing teams
- Experience in organizations with $50M in annual revenue
- Agency, professional services, or multi-entity holding company experience strongly preferred
- Experience operating within a global or matrixed organization a plus
- M&A, investment, or integration experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Position requires credit check and comprehensive background check
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; Master’s degree preferred
